Marjorie LaBue

Obituary of Marjorie LaBue Marjorie Lou Cox LaBue, a 24 year resident of the Villages and member of St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Community, passed away after a long illness on December 14, 2012, at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of Frank LaBue, mother of Maxine Composto (Joseph), Linda Molinelli (Jerry), and Frank LaBue, Jr. (Sharon), grandmother of Carrie Composto Cadle (Ben), Jamie Composto Salazar (Alec), Lisa Molinelli, John Molinelli, Joseph Molinelli, and David LaBue, and great-grandmother of Adrian Salazar and Matthew Cadle. She also leaves behind a brother, Wayne Cox (Shirley), and a sister, Lucy Killens, sisters in law Ann Faivre (Ray), Josie Sawicki, Teresa LaBue, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in Sebastopol, Mississippi, was the valedictorian of her High School graduation class, and then moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where she worked for Western Union. She met her husband of 68 years during that time while he was in the Army during World War II and stationed in Mississippi. They were married and moved to New York, where they raised a family. She was a Girl Scout Leader and avid supporter of the activities of her children and grandchildren, attending their concerts, recitals, and encouraging them and cheering them on in everything they did. She was especially fond of their musical abilities. She worked as a Payroll Clerk and Pay Master at St. John's University. After retirement, she moved to Florida and became an active participant in her community and her Church. She devoted many hours to setting up a computer system for the St. Vincent de Paul Society and dearly loved working with that group as a founding member. She was part of a square dancing group, Bible study, De Colores, and prayer groups, and she particularly loved getting together with friends to play chickenfoot and dominoes. She excelled at everything she did, and did it all with a smile and positive outlook. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church in Lady Lake, FL at 8:30 am on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.
