Marilyn Ann Wahl

In Loving Memory of Marilyn (Matzinger) Wahl June 3, 1938 – August 18, 2026 Marilyn (Matzinger) Wahl, 88, was born on June 3, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to Alfred and Bernice (Krueger) Matzinger. She was the oldest of two daughters, growing up alongside her younger sister, Carol. Marilyn dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She completed nursing training and became a Registered Nurse, working at Toledo Hospital, where she spent many years in the recovery room. Her desire to continue helping people led her back to school in the evenings, where she earned a degree in social work. She then combined her nursing and social work experience to help hospital patients transition from the hospital to nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and other appropriate care settings. She was compassionate, hardworking, and deeply committed to helping others. On August 29, 1959, Marilyn married the love of her life, James (Jim) Wahl. Together, they built a loving family and shared almost 67 years of marriage. They were blessed with three children: Michael Wahl of Bulverde, Texas; Ann Collins of Orlando, Florida; and Marcia Moran of Ventura, California. Marilyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing Mahjong with her friends, and admiring flowers. She especially enjoyed taking time to look at and smell the flowers around her. Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband, James (Jim) Wahl of Leesburg, Florida; her sister, Carol Lee of Findlay, Ohio; her son, Michael Wahl, daughter-in-law Maura; her daughter, Ann Collins; and her daughter, Marcia Moran, son-in-law Patrick, and 6 granddaughters. The family held a private identification on August 19, 2026. Marilyn will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a caring grandmother, a hardworking and compassionate woman, a loyal friend, and a respected member of her community. Her kindness, strength, and love for her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
