Marie R. Civitello

Marie Reynolds Civitello, age 90, of Leesburg, FL, passed away October 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving children. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Ralph L. Civitello, and brother William Reynolds. Marie was the beloved mother of James (Sharon) Civitello of Cincinnati, OH, Kathyrn (Glenn) Lafountaine of Orlando, FL, Robert (Tricia Tusa) Civitello of Williamstown, MA, and Jean (Patrick) Boltz of Dayton, OH. She dearly loved her grandchildren Robert, Annie, Joseph, Abby, Michelle, Theo, Rhe, Natalie, Krista, and Alyson, as well as her eleven precious great-grandchildren. Marie was born in Rochester, NY to Catherine (O'Brien) and George C. Reynolds. She graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in 1948, and married Ralph on June 17, 1950. As a working mother, Marie took great pride in her years as an administrative assistant at St. Joseph School in Penfield, NY. During their years in Penfield and Pittsford, Marie and Ralph forged many wonderful lifelong friendships. In 1980, they relocated to Orlando, FL, where Marie continued her career at Disney's Royal Plaza and Palace Hotels. In 1993, Marie and Ralph retired to Leesburg, FL, where they lived happily in Highland Lakes for over 25 years. Family and friends were everything to Marie. Although spread across the country, her family gathered often in her home and around her table. Over the years, many treasured memories were made at annual family reunions in Edisto Beach, SC, other family visits, and at family weddings. She stayed up to date and onnected through emails, iPad messages and FaceTime content in her easy adaptation of the latest technologies. A celebration of Marie's life will be held at a future date when her family is able to travel to honor her memory. A gentle, loving mother, grandmother and great-grand mother, Marie was a woman generous of heart, a sturdy spirit, the matriarch of our family. We will miss her every day and forever.
