M. Gail (Roberts) Brych

M. Gail (Roberts) Brych, passed away on January 1, 2024, with her loving family at her side. She was born on September 17, 1940, in Pell City, Alabama. She moved to Utica, NY in 1946 and was educated in Utica schools, attending Utica College and St Lukes School of Nursing. She married Robert Brych in 1962. Gail began her business career with New York Telephone Co. in 1969 as a service representative, leaving NYT in 1978 to transfer to New England Telephone Co. as a Business Office Supervisor when her husband began working for GE in Burlington Vt. Gail and Bob loved to ski and settled in Stowe, VT where Bob was a member of the National Ski Patrol at Smugglers Notch for many years. They both were volunteer alpine ski coaches for the Vt Special Olympic athletes for several years. They also skied many locations around the US and in Europe. Gail managed business offices in Montpelier and Burlington VT., and Cambridge, MA over the next several years, retiring as an area operations manager in 1990. Upon retirement her interest focused on golf. She dearly loved the game and became quite good at it. She worked many years at the Stowe Country Club Pro Shop and worked on her game. She won the Ladies Club Championship 9 times and also won 3 times in FL where she and Bob moved in 1998. No one loved the game more than Gail. She worked with the junior clinics at the club passing along the love of the game. She also enjoyed volunteering with the ABE helping adults with reading problems. Reading was one of Gail's lifelong passions. She was predeceased by her parents Clara and Richard Bellair, brother Michael Bellair and sister, Susan Bellair. She leaves to mourn her, her loving husband Robert, daughter Tracy (Eddie) Webster, Hyde Park, VT son Michael (Sarah) Brych, Rolesville, NC, granddaughter Kirsten (Matthew) Fudala, Portsmouth, NH, sister Judy (John) Lapenta and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Visitation will be held at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel in Leesburg, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM followed by Funeral Services at 5:00 PM. Following the Mass, Beyers Funeral Home will transport Gail's casket to Kowalczyk Funeral Home in Utica, NY. Visitation will be held at Kowalczyk Funeral Home on May 4, 2024, from 9am to 11am and then buried at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida, and Kowalczyk Funeral Home in Utica, NY.
