Lorenzo “John” Ameri, 81, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on October 4, 2025, after courageously enduring many years of health challenges. Born in Italy, he immigrated to the United States with his parents, supported by relatives in the Midwest. He carried with him the strength, resilience, and deep family values that shaped his life. A trailblazer in his family, John became the first to pursue higher education and earn a college degree — an accomplishment that reflected his determination and belief in building a better future. John built a lifetime career with State Farm Insurance, where he was known for his integrity, steady work ethic, and commitment to serving others. Even beyond his professional life, service remained central to who he was. He volunteered with the Guardian ad Litem program, advocating for children in need, and became a licensed mediator, helping others find resolution and peace. In the 1960s, John met the love of his life, Linda. They were married for nearly 57 years and were each other’s constant companion and confidant. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, partnership, and quiet strength. Linda passed away in January 2026, just months after John, and their enduring bond remains a testament to a lifetime shared. John was a devoted father to his daughters, Vicki (Herb) Allen and Erica (Greg) Milopoulos. He took great pride in his family and found joy in watching them build lives of their own. He is survived by his daughters, an Aunt and cousins in the Midwest and Italy. In retirement, John embraced simple pleasures. He played softball, tended a thriving vegetable garden, and nurtured a deep love of plants. He was happiest outdoors, hands in the soil, growing something that would nourish others — a fitting reflection of the life he lived. John will be remembered for his perseverance, his quiet generosity, his dedication to family, and the steady presence he provided to those who loved him.
