Leslie Marie Lewis

Leslie Marie Lewis, 68, passed into the arms of her Savior on August 24, 2026. The fourth of five children, Leslie was born to Charles and Joan Sutton on January 8, 1958 in Potsdam, NY. Their family moved in Florida in 1964. She graduated from Lake Christian School in 1976. Ray Lewis was smitten in 1974 when he met Leslie in youth group while home on Christmas break from college. They were married August 25, 1979 and raised three children together, Kimberly, Jennifer and Christopher. Leslie worked as the secretary and bookkeeper at Grace Bible Baptist Church in Fruitland Park, where they have been members for forty years. Leslie loved the beach. She loved traveling with Ray and girls’ trips with her sisters. She loved sunflowers and the color purple. She loved apples in the fall and decorating at Christmastime. But the joy of Leslie’s life was her family - especially being an Amma to her grandchildren. She loved anything that involved her family being together; from Sunday mornings at church, to birthday parties, to sleepovers with her grandkids, to holiday dinners, to vacations together. She always made time for school events, church programs, sports games, and meets - anything her grandkids were a part of. Leslie was the true heart of her family. Her love for the Lord was at the very center of her dedication to her family. Leslie is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Ray Lewis, daughter Kimberly Lewis, daughter Jennifer Mulford (Seth), and son Christopher Lewis (Amber), mother-in-law Sally Lewis, stepmom Phoebe Sutton, her grandchildren Ayva, Alyvia, Avery and Sutton Mulford, and Kate, Emerie, Charlie and Mavis Lewis, three sisters, Nancy Davis (Dan), Kathy Lackey (Don), Mary Beth Griffin, one brother, Robert Sutton (Kim), stepsister Kristi Alsip, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Joan Sutton, father-in-law Raymond “Bo” Lewis, and granddaughter, Madelyn Lewis. Services will be held at Grace Bible Baptist Church in Fruitland Park on Friday, August 28, 2026, with visitation at 10:00 am and funeral service at 11:00 am, followed by a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg. In true Leslie fashion, we ask that you wear your favorite bright colors. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the building fund for the next generation of Grace Bible Baptist Church - a project Leslie was so excited about.
