Obituary of LeRoy Lefkowitz LeRoy Lefkowitz August 5, 1941 " May 19, 2010 Our beloved friend LeRoy Lefkowitz left us suddenly on May 19, 2010 at his home in The Villages, Florida at the age of 68. Born August 5, 1941, he was raised in Los Angeles, graduating from Hamilton High School, a member of the football, track and baseball teams. Following high school, he served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. By the age of 30, using his natural gifts and entrepreneurial spirit, he founded a national office supply company that he ran until his early retirement. After brief stops in Lake Arrowhead and Ojai, he choose to make San Diego his home. In retirement, he became an avid golfer, softball, table tennis and pickleball player, always demanding perfection from himself, while gently encouraging others. He recently moved to the Villages in Florida where he continued to make the most of every minute of his life. LeRoy was a one of a kind human being who touched the hearts and souls of those he loved. He lived his life in an intense and complete manner, sharing his passions, thoughts and ideas on a daily basis. He always made an effort to maintain the relationships he cherished over the years. He will be sorely missed and loved. LeRoy is survived by the many friends who loved him. To honor LeRoy, a Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, May 26 at 6:00 P.M. at the home of Audrey and Mike Philllips, 6611 Lago Lindo in Rancho Santa Fe, Ca. 92067. In lieu of flowers, the LeRoy Lefkowitz Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established for students with academic and athletic challenges.
