June Dow Paquette

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the peaceful passing of June (Dow) Paquette, age 93, of Leesburg, Florida (later The Villages) on June 8, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on July 3, 1931 in Laconia, New Hampshire, June lived a long, meaningful life marked by devotion to family, quiet strength, and enduring kindness. She was the beloved wife of the late Maurice “Mo” Paquette, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship until his passing in 2018. She was also predeceased by her parents Dora and Alonzo “Gus” Dow, and her sisters Nancy L. Dow of Laconia, New Hampshire, and Ann Miller of Portland, Oregon. June was a dedicated and nurturing mother to nine children. She was preceded in death by her dear son, Marc in 1994 whom she now joins in eternal peace. She is survived by Steve (Karen) Paquette of The Villages, Florida; Wayne (Robin) of Spring Hill, Florida; Karen Brissey of Leesburg; Florida; Susan (Allen) Dearwester of Fruitland Park, Florida; Bruce (Thresa) Paquette of Leesburg Florida; Maurice Jr., “Mo”, (Kathy) Paquette of Lady Lake, Florida; Mike (Tommy) Paquette of Nashville, Tennessee; and Lisa (Lance) Lumbard of Ocoee, Florida, who carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and family unity. June also had eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. June graduated from Laconia High School in 1949 and married Mo in 1950. In addition to having nine children while in Laconia, June worked at Lunds Ski Factory, Bill’s Diner, and Laconia State School. In 1975, the family relocated to Leesburg, Florida where June opened a fruit and gift shop catering to tourists on Highway 27 south of Leesburg. June also received her real estate license and worked for ERA Realty for a brief period. Following Mo’s retirement in 1992, June enjoyed playing golf, travelling with family, and spending time with her friends at the Silver Lake Garden Club. Visitation will be held at the chapel of Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg Florida on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, Florida on Thursday June 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM. The service can be viewed via livestream by going to sumtercatholic.org/funeral (password = svdp5323). Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida.
