Judy Kay Stephenson

Judy Kay Stephenson, age 78, of Fruitland Park, Florida, passed away in her home on February 7, 2026. Judy was born on February 11, 1947 in Bartow, Florida to her parents Dorothy and Charles Judson. She graduated from Leesburg High School in 1965. Judy married her high school sweetheart, Terry Stephenson, on April 16th, 1966. Judy was a devoted cosmetologist throughout her life, including owning Bon-Air salon for many years, a career that reflected her love of caring for others. She also spent over a decade working for Disney, where her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on those around her. Alongside her late husband, Terry, Judy purchased acres of land in Fruitland Park to build a life centered on family, faith, and community. Together, they raised farm animals and created a home filled with love, hard work, and purpose. Judy was especially passionate about her miniature horses, which brought her immense joy. Judy and Terry helped the development of Northside Christian Church in Fruitland Park, alongside of their closest friends - a testament to their deep faith and commitment to serving others. Known for her strength, compassion, and selflessness, Judy always put the needs of others before her own. She found happiness in cooking and baking, often sharing meals made with love. Judy spent countless days caring for friends and family during times of illness or hardship, offering comfort, patience, and unwavering support to those she loved. Judy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terry Stephenson, her mother, Dorothy Beard, her father, Charles Judson, stepfather, Henry Beard, and in-laws, Dorothy and Lowell Stephenson. She is survived by her Sister-in-Law Thelma (Henry), Brother-in-Law Larry (Carol); her children, Charles, Robert, and Amber (Bill); five grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Jaylen, Gage, and Lake; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Brynnleigh; and one great-granddaughter, Capri, on the way; and one of her very close friends who was like a daughter to her, Jennifer Holmes. Judy is also survived by her many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 3:00 p.m. at the Fruitland Park Gardenia Center, 205 W.
