Judy Johnson

Judy Crawford Johnson went home to her Lord and Savior at the Cornerstone Hospice House on May 25, 2021 in The Villages, Florida due to complications following a 2 ½ year battle with cancer. She was 74. Mrs. Johnson was born on April 13, 1947 in Carlisle, KY to her parents, Charles and Marie Crawford, both deceased. She married David E. Johnson in 1965. The Johnson's moved to Charlotte, NC where Dave worked as an accountant and CFO and Judy worked as the Asst. Director of Admissions at her beloved Queens University for 25 years. She retired in 2013 and moved to Greenville, SC to be close to her grandchildren and then to The Villages in Florida to be with her lifelong friends. Judy was the quiet, but steadfast matriarch of her family. When she spoke, people listened. She was an excellent cook, loved to sew and cross stitch. Judy was a talented musician that played the French horn, drums and piano. She was an avid reader and loved attending her children's and then her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Williamson Road United Methodist Church in Mooresville, NC and then Advent United Methodist Church in Simpsonville, SC. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband Dave of nearly 56 years and two children Chad Johnson (Kim) of Huntersville, NC and Precia Shaw (Paul) of Simpsonville, SC. She is also survived by her brother Gary Crawford (Bonny) of Vero Beach, FL and their children Melany Crawford of Port St. Lucie, FL and Adam Crawford (Christi) of Vero Beach, FL. and three grandchildren, Josh, Carson and Sydney Shaw. Mrs. Johnson's life will be celebrated in a Memorial Service to be held on June 14, 2021 at Advent United Methodist Church in Simpsonville, SC at 11:00AM. Friends and family will be received after the service at the home of Paul and Precia Shaw. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ms. Johnson's life. In lieu of flower, memorials in her honor can be made to Queens University or Advent United Methodist Church.
