Joyce Arlene Brown Warren

Joyce Arlene Brown Warren, March 12, 1934 to May 27, 2024; had just celebrated her 90th birthday this year, passed away peacefully at home under the care of Cornerstone Hospice surrounded by her family. Joyce was a loving Mother, Grandmother and friend to many. She was kind to everyone she met and never spoke a bad word about others. She had a beautiful smile that was sincere and comforting. She loved animals, she adopted dogs, took in stray cats, and she enjoyed watching hummingbirds at the feeder outside her living room window. She had many canine friends and said she hoped they were waiting for her so that she could see them again. She loved to do crossword puzzles, was an avid reader and writer. She was a college graduate from Saint Leo College where she worked for many years and retired from. She also published her own book of poems in the eighties. An employee of the library she frequented once said she would read any book with a dog on the cover. David Rosenfelt was one of her favorite authors, and she enjoyed his Andy Carpenter Mystery Series in which there was always a dog on the cover. One of her favorite songs was Somewhere over the Rainbow, Israel Kamakawiwo’ole version. She was a simple woman who lived on the Withlacoochee River for the past 40 years where she found her peace and tranquility with her many animals that she loved cared for. Her family and friends had many wonderful memories there that included fishing, cooking out, swimming and tubing. She loved to send letters and cards for any occasion, but more importantly she never missed a birthday unless she was unable to physically. Her family and friends always looked forward to receiving them and loved her for this thoughtful gesture. These will surely be missed! She was preceded by her husband Carl Warren. She is survived by her brother Pat Brown, her children, Bob and Judy Warren, John “David” Warren, Janet Hutto. Her grandchildren, Rob and Angela Warren, Chris and Mel Warren, Tracy Wynne, Teresa Giles, and preceded by Rock McCormick. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, Ashley Dow, Sarah Benjamin, Aubrey Warren, Allison Onushack, and Amy Walcheske. She is also survived by her Sister-In-Law and best friend Ty Kruise who she has been friends with since she was 14 years old. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in her name to an animal charity of your choice.
