Joseph Anthony Yannuzzi

Joseph T. Yannuzzi (Joe), 65, passed away on May 5, 2020 in his beloved lake house, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Anthony and Catherine Yannuzzi. Joe married his childhood sweetheart Nancy in 1972, they were happily married for 48 years. He began his career with the railroad in 1974 as a crew dispatcher and worked his way up the ranks, retiring as the General Superintendent, Amtrak, Southwest Division in 2011. Joe's leadership and work ethic earned him respect and admiration throughout the railroad community. Joe was a kind, true gentleman, who was loved by all. His infectious personality, kind heart, and quick wit made it impossible not to enjoy his presence. Joe lived his life honorably and authentically. He loved traveling with his wife and living in their slice of paradise. Nancy was his love, his sweetness; someone he shared a love with seen once in a lifetime. Joe's love for his family was fierce. Anyone could see the man he was through the character seen in his children; his pride in them knew no bounds. He loved to spend time with his grandsons fishing, telling jokes and taking boat rides. Joe also enjoyed golf, playing poker and betting on the horses. He was selfless and humble, someone who asked for nothing but gave everything. Joe fought valiantly and courageously against his battle with cancer, never letting it define him. He lived his life to the fullest each day and was his jovial, charismatic self to the end. Joe touched countless lives in ways he didn't even realize. He is what so many strive to become; loving husband and father, dedicated brother, and loyal friend. Besides his wife Nancy, Joe is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Kluzak (Keith), and his son, Jay Yannuzzi (Angelina); grandsons Jacob, Braeden and Lucas; siblings Cathy Langton (Ed), Tony Yannuzzi, Mary Diek (Larry), Flossie Johnson, Tom Yannuzzi (Tish) and Steven Yannuzzi. Joe is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Jerry Johnson and sister-in-law, Diane Yannuzzi. We've lost one of the best, but heaven has gained an angel. We love you, Joe. Look after us.
