Joseph Michael Steadham

Joseph Michael (Mike) Steadham was born on April 15, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mike passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 16, 2018 in Leesburg, Florida. Mike was the second oldest of Joseph Victor Steadham and Fanny Elizabeth Lee. He was raised in Georgia and always loved his birth state. Mike moved to Leesburg in the 80s to manage Lake Sumter Equipment, which later became Lake Rent-All. Mike was known in the community for making deals for his customers. He was generous and understanding, Mike was always there to lend you a hand or cut you a break if you needed it. Mike was kind and friendly, he didn't know a stranger. Mike retired several years ago but he never stopped tinkering with equipment, fixing things for others, and beautifully refinishing furniture. Mike was a son, a husband, a father, a grandfather, an uncle, and a friend. He loved spending time at the beach, riding motorcycles, and most of all loved being with his family. Mike was married originally to Myrna Yvonne Largin and had two sons: Michael Victor Steadham and Jeremy Scott Steadham. They later divorced but remained close friends. Mike married Patricia Lynn Gardner and had three children: Patricia LeAnn Steadham (Taylor), Joseph Patrick Steadham, and Adam Lee Steadham. Mike and Patricia were married for 37 years. Mike is preceded in death by his loving parents, his eldest sister Sharon Steadham (Nordlund), and his granddaughter Katelyn Mackenzie Taylor. Mike is survived by his wife Patricia of Leesburg, FL; his step-mother: Sherry Ann Hanson Steadham of Florida; his siblings: Daniel (Janet) Steadham of Florida, Connie (Freddie) Mayo of North Carolina, Debbie (Charles) Rider of Georgia, Cindy (David) McCarthy of Georgia, Karen (Tony) Collingsworth of Ohio and Sherry Jo (David) Crissman of Virginia; his children: Michael Steadham of Leesburg, FL, Scott (Elizabeth) Steadham of Fruitland Park, FL, LeAnn (Stuart) Taylor of Fruitland Park, FL, Joseph Steadham of Leesburg, FL, and Adam Steadham of Leesburg, FL: 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many other loved ones. A Celebration of Mike's Life will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 (prior to the service a public viewing will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) at Beyer's Funeral Home 1123 West Main Street Leesburg, Florida.
