Obituary of Joseph Pluto Joseph V. Pluto, 76, of The Villages, FL died Wednesday, August 19, 2009. He was born in Shamokin, PA and moved to The Villages from Crofton, MD in 2000. Mr. Pluto was a U.S. Army Intelligence Veteran, worked 20 years for the Penn Central Railroad and retired after 30 years with Fischbach & Moore electrical contractors. He was a member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks. In high school he was Valedictorian of his class and a 3-Sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball). He had a full ride scholarship to Dartmouth College (academic & athletic - football) and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Mr. Pluto was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. He was an avid golfer and billiards player, loved playing chess and fishing, and was a voracious reader. He loved his boat. He loved his wife and dancing! Mr. Pluto is survived by his wife, Rosemary Pluto of The Villages, FL, 2 daughters; Debra Houtaling (Charles), Columbus, OH and Michele Libs (Tony), Floyds Knobs, IN, 2 sons; Ricky Love (Pat), Jeffersonville, IN and Daniel Seibel (Joanne), St. Clair, MI,10 grandchildren: Ricky, Joey, Daniel, Patrice, Katelynn, Stephanie, Lauren, Ami, Natalie and Joshua; and 1 great grandchild, Quinn Rileigh. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 23, 2009, at Kraft Graceland Funeral Home on Charlestown Road, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Father John Geis will be officiating. Entombment with full military honors will be at Kraft Graceland Mausoleum in New Albany, Indiana. A celebration of Mr. Pluto's life will be held in The Villages, Florida at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612; Benjamin Hope Lodge, 12810 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612; or The Villagers for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.
