John M. Wilson June 23, 1934 – August 4, 2022 Born in Maddensville, PA The Son of Roy D. Wilson and Bernice M. Brown Wilson. John was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters: Doris House, Eunice Hawbaker, and Bernadine Mills. John leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years Carolyn Kay Wilson, 2 loving children Justina Wilson and John M. Wilson II (Diane). Grandchildren Janelle Rolston (Todd), David Holtry, Jonica Wilson, and Shana Myers. 5 great grandchildren. 2 loving sisters Patsy Mellott & Daphne Fracker. Numerous nieces & nephews. He went to primary school in a one room schoolhouse in PA. John was always congenial, fun loving, and charismatic and was nominated as The May King by his classmates at Saltillo High School from which he graduated in 1952. From rural, PA, John went on to serve 20 years in the United States Air Force, was a Vietnam Veteran; receiving a Medal of Commendation distinguishing him for his meritorious service with the 31st Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron as Technical Sergeant. He lived in 8 different countries across the world. During his service he received many awards and accommodations due to his merit, strong work ethic, and skill in repairing aircraft instruments. John never met a stranger. He could engage with anyone that crossed his path and enjoyed talking with someone he just met, socializing with long time friends, loved his family fiercely. From a young boy from small town USA to one of the most liked team members in Saudi Arabia as an adult and contracted instrument technician with Lockheed there was no situation that John could not adapt himself. He could be put in a hostile military environment and stay calm under pressure, and he could also entertain his children and grandchildren endlessly and have them in tears from laughter. If you were fortunate to know John, then you loved him, his outlandish sense of humor, and his fun-loving adventurous zeal for life. A visitation for John will be Wednesday, August 10th, 2022 at 10am with a service immediately following at 11am. Both services for John will be held at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W Main Street, Leesburg, FL.
