Johanna "Judy" Margaret Kelly

Johanna “Judy” Margaret Kelly, age 82, of The Villages, FL, died peacefully, the 22nd of March 2025, surrounded by family and the sounds of NCAA March Madness. She was the beloved wife of the late William V. Kelly and the late William N. Hogan. Judy was born in Waterbury, on December 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Daniel and Dora (Kenny) Kennedy of Tipperary, Ireland. She was a parishioner of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. She attended Nursing School in New Haven, CT and worked as an L.P.N. for many years and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as an R.N., with over 30 years of nursing, all while raising the luckiest son on earth. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, drew the best people into her orbit and cherished the people in her life. She was also an avid golfer and member of Crestbrook Golf Course and Torrington Country Club, a Pepsi enthusiast, and author of epic Facebook fails with classic posts like, “How do I write something on Facebook,” and “Please stop sending me gross images of pimples, I’m on Facebook to be with my friends,” and “How do I find my friends?” She is survived by her son, William K. Hogan and his wife Lily Hogan of Peyton, Colorado; her dear friend and metaphorically adopted daughter Tandy Pinter, three grandchildren who she adored and couldn’t be more proud of, Morgan, Shelby, and Nelson Hogan; and three great grandchildren, Noah, Theo, and Max Lewis who called her "Ju ju." She also leaves behind the most amazing friends from her street in the Village of Largo. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Doreen Sofia, Mary Simpson, and Patricia Caulfield. A KISS, A SMILE, TO CARE - "Family friends and memories, Happiness long past. Sustenance beyond all else, Chaos, life too fast. Youth matured to willingness, A mountain with a scar, A kiss, a child, a purpose, Journeys sometimes far. Question not the roads of life; Endure them when you dare. Restitution for these deeds - A kiss, a smile, to care." MY PARENTS - "This man and woman gave me life; Their memories I hold dear. They shared a love so pure and strong, Their voices I still hear. My father, with his Irish eyes, Sof-spoken, with a brogue; At jokes , he'd give a belly-laugh; The humor of a rogue. My mother was the nervous one, Her skin so soft and pink. So often she would say to me, "What will the neighbors think?" A stranger not to discipline, Enforces with loving care. Such pride in me, so obvious, To shame them, I'd not dare. I'm grateful to them for their love, The years that they were here. If there's a life hereafter, With them, I hope to share." ~Johanna Hogan Arrangements are being entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, FL. Memorial Service will be held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 8:30am and internment at Florida National Cemetery Bushnell, Florida at 11:00 am.
