Obituary of James McDonald James C. McDonald, 80, The Villages, FL died on Sunday, March 24, 2013. He was born in Johnstown, PA and moved to The Villages in 1999 from Pittsburgh, PA. He married Doris Bearer, started a family and began employment at Bethlehem Steel as an armed guard. An opportunity arose and Jim moved his family to Pittsburgh, PA and began a 30 year career in law enforcement with the Pennsylvania State Police, Liquor Control Board. Shortly after retiring, he lost his first wife Doris to cancer. He again found love and happiness a few years later and married Ruth Ann. Together they moved to The Villages and officially became Snowbirds. He was past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Home was where their love was and Jim will be greatly missed. His wife Ruth and his children will treasure the many memories of a great life. He is preceded in death by his first wife Doris Bearer McDonald, his son Michael J. McDonald, his sister Audrey McDonald and his brother Albert McDonald. Survivors include his wife Ruth Ann Mutschler Goldbach Mc Donald; children: Joseph H. (Doreen) McDonald, Susan M. (Jorge) Ruiz, Diane L. (Paul) Salava, Rebecca A. (Daniel Jr) Youngbar, Norman J. Goldbach (Bette Ann); Elaine (David) Balf, Robert (Lee) Goldbach and Beth (David) Peckenpaugh); brother Raymond R. (Annette) McDonald; sister Ruth McDonald Hetzlein; brother Patrick (Jeanella) McDonald; 22 Grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a wake service at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor, Pittsburgh, PA or The American Cancer Society, Lake-Sumter Unit, 1650 West Main Street, Ste 3, Leesburg, FL 34748.
