Obituary of Guillermo Avecilla, Jr. GUILLERMO B. AVECILLA JR. M.D., 48, of Oxford, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010. Born in Manila, Philippines, the son of Guillermo and Estelita (Bergano) Avecilla Sr. Dr. Avecilla came to the United States in 1991, and moved here from Tampa in 2002. He was a practicing physician in Mulberry Medical Group, and on staff at The Villages Regional Hospital. He was dedicated to his practice and his patients to the very end. Dr. Avecilla was a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Belleview. An avid runner, self- taught musician, a kind and generous person who loved to travel, and a wonderful cook and wine connoisseur, "Gilly" was a loving and devoted husband and a wonderful father. Survivors include his wife, Josephine; daughter, Grace; son, Matthew; brother, Noni (Cecil) Avecilla, nieces & nephews, Marco, Paolo, Trixie & Nico, Philippines, sister, Mina (Gary) Duncan, nieces, Hillary & Heather, California: sister, Evelyn (Randy) Duncan, nieces, Grace, Iris & Paula, California, godmother, Caring (Romeo) Laconsay, Philippines; mother-in-law Janice (Richie Seaman) Martin, New York; sister-in-law, Jean Santerre, niece & nephews, Anthony, Andrea & Robert, New York. Friends may visit from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, November 3rd at Beyers Funeral Home, 134 N. Hwy 27/441, Lady Lake, with a wake service at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 8:00 pm Wednesday at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 11528 SE US Hwy 301, Belleview, FL with Father David Vivero, officiating. For those who wish, the family requests memorial contributions to be directed to "The Tree Of Life" at The Villages Regional Hospital, 1451 El Camino Real, The Villages, FL 32162 for the benefit of under-privileged children in third world nations.
