Edward F. Koehn

Edward F. "Butch" Koehn, of Mallory Square in The Villages passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a short fight with lung cancer. Ed was born February 16, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio to Robert E. Sr. and Edna L. (Corriveau) Koehn. He graduated in 1963 from St. Mary High School in Warren, Ohio. Ed is the oldest of 8 siblings, Dick, Robyn, Bobby, Joe, Candy, Ted and Kat and precedes them in death. Ed served our country proudly in the Army and a veteran of Vietnam from 1965-1967. He married the love of his life Jane (Buffington) in September 1977 and moved their family to Brockway, Pennsylvania. There, Ed worked for many years for CNG/Dominion Gas, first as a technical specialist and finally an Operations Supervisor, retiring in 2006. Ed was very active in The Villages upon his retirement joining several groups. He was a passionate golfer and bowler and a member of the VIP (Visually Impaired Person) Group and The Villages Vietnam Veterans Chapter #1036 where he served on the Chapter Color Guard. He and his wife Jane loved the wonderful friendships of their many neighbors over these last 12 years. He truly loved retiring to The Villages and tooling around in his golf cart. Ed is the proud father of his 3 children Stephen Koehn, Christine (Jeff) Polliard, and Jimmy Koehn and his many grandchildren, Sandy Martin, Julia Koehn, Zachary Polliard, Kenny Koehn, Rachel Polliard, Paige Koehn, Alayna Koehn, Haley Koehn, Teagan Koehn, Gabriella Polliard and Savannah Koehn. He also leaves behind his beloved dog John. Ed is preceded in death by his father Robert E. Koehn, Sr, his mother in law, Betty Buffington, several brothers-in-law, a niece and a nephew. Services to celebrate Ed's life will be held both in Pennsylvania, where his remains will be laid to rest, and in The Villages, where he enjoyed the final chapters of his life.
