Dennis "Ray" Taylor Sr.

Dennis “Ray” Taylor Sr. 70, of Clermont Fl. passed away peacefully at home with his family surrounding him on Monday evening, April 17, 2023. Dennis was born and raised in Beebe, Arkansas. where he graduated from Beebe High School, class of 71. Dennis played football for the Beebe Badgers as a running back and loved the game and his teammates. Dennis went on to become a Sergeant in the Air Force. Dennis returned to Arkansas where he married and had 2 daughters, Angie, and Krystal. He attended the AIB school of baking science and technology, class 128, in Manhattan, Kansas. He then began a career in the baking industry management where this led him to live all over the United States including, New England, and Hawaii. Dennis remarried in 1993 and had a son Ray Jr. Dennis retired and settled in Clermont, Florida in 2000, where he enjoyed the outside weather and taking walks. Dennis spent his time enjoying friends, family, and going places, especially his morning breakfast club at McDonalds every day. Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, pawpaw, and stepfather. He loved and cared about everyone around him. His favorite thing was to make a wise joke at every opportunity he could. He loved his classical television shows like M.A.S.H, Westerns, Andy Griffith show, college football, baseball, NFL, and golf. Dennis “Ray” Taylor Sr. is Survived by his wife Joann Taylor, His Children, Cheryl Angelique Lefevre of Houston, Texas. Krystal Allison Mann, of Little Rock, Arkansas. Dennis “Ray” Taylor Jr. of Leesburg, Florida. Three stepchildren, Carmon Conway Shannon Jr. of Lafayette, Louisiana. Tyler Brent Shannon of Atlanta, Georgia. Sunni Joann Shannon of Clermont, Florida. Brothers and sisters, Dorothy and Joe Mathis of Waxhall, N.C, Bobby and Angie Grubb of Fayetteville N.C, David and Jennie Taylor of Beebe Arkansas, Letha Swain of California, and Donna Henderson of Illinois. Aunts and Uncles, Emmett, Horace, Kathryn and their families. Dennis had Fifteen Grandchildren, 2 grandsons in Texas, 1 granddaughter in Arkansas, 2 granddaughters in Louisiana, 3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons in Georgia, 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson in Florida. Dennis had many Nieces and Nephews. Dennis was loved and cherished by many friends, and his family. He will be remembered and missed tremendously by those who loved and knew him. The viewing and visiting will be Thursday, April 20th from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21st, at 10 am promptly at Beyers Funeral Home 1123 West Main St. Leesburg, Fl.
