Obituary of Carolyn Green Carolyn Green passed away peacefully on August 23, 2015, in The Villages, Florida. Carolyn was born in Pompano Beach, Florida on July 11, 1940, to the late Arthur Fred McDavid and Mildred Jeannette (Pridemore) McDavid. She attended Pompano Beach High School where she was a member of various clubs and was a majorette in the high school band. After graduation, Carolyn attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, Georgia and later the Massey School of Business in Jacksonville, Florida. Carolyn married Kenneth L. Green, Sr. and together shared two children, Kenneth L. Green, Jr. of Howey in the Hills, FL and Jill Green Stanley of Lady Lake, Florida. Later, having two children in school, Carolyn was asked to temporarily fill in at a law firm for vacationing staff which evolved into a career of over 40 years at the law firm of Sellar, Sewell, Russ, Saylor and Johnson. Carolyn waited as long as she could for the vacationer to return but eventually retired from a very fulfilling career in 2013. Carolyn enjoyed time away from work to vacation at her summer home in Rockwood, Tennessee with her husband and spending time with grandkids, taking them to local attractions and enjoying the happy excuse to visit all the shopping venues while they visited her there. Carolyn could be found on college football Saturdays attending the University of Florida Fighting Gator home games with her two oldest grandsons, Stephen Green and Austin Stanley, from 1993 until she recently became unable to attend. The family finds comfort in knowing that Carolyn was a born again Christian and remembering her love for each of her family members. Carolyn is preceded in death by her brother, Donald F. McDavid of Brooker, FL. Carolyn is survived by her brother, Terry McDavid (Ginger) of Lake City, FL; sisters, Sue Register of Daytona Beach, FL, Brenda Whitehead (Henry) of Lake Butler, FL; husband, Kenneth L. Green, Sr. of Wildwood, FL; two children: Kenneth L. Green, Jr. of Howey in the Hills, FL and Jill Green Stanley of Lady Lake, FL; her grandchildren, Korrina Green and Stephen Green of Howey in the Hills, FL, Austin Stanley and Shelby (Vernon) Stanley of Wildwood, FL, and Justin Stanley and Hunter Stanley of Oxford, FL. In lieu of flowers those who wish can make a donation to The Villages Hospice House in The Villages, FL or the Eastern Star Lodge No. 92 in Wildwood, Florida.
