Carol J. Minucci

Beloved wife and mother, Carol (Wirtz) Minucci, passed into eternal rest on March 20, 2018 at her home in The Villages, Florida with her family around her. Carol was born on May 2, 1940 in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. She studied music at UW Whitewater where she met the love of her life, Jim, an Army veteran and Business Major. They enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage and raised their family mostly in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Carol dedicated her time to raising their children, creating a beautiful and comfortable home full of grace, good food, and loving devotion. She was a longtime member of St. Dominic's parish in Brookfield, joining St. Timothy's parish in The Villages when she and Jim relocated to Florida in 2008. Carol relished her role as wife, mother and grandmother with a passion for music and art which she indulged throughout her life and more so in her later years. She was a golfer, loved to travel, knitter, bridge player and voracious reader. She was also happy to be a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 347. Her varied career included a stint as a Real Estate Broker and she was an integral part of the success of Jim's business. Besides her loving and caring manner, she will be missed for her delicious cooking which is legendary among friends and family especially, her classic dish, 'Antipasto'. Many people enjoyed and asked her to sing her signature song, "Crazy" by Patsy Cline at many of the club gatherings they attended, on cruise ships and a favorite on the karaoke circuit. Carol and Jim were lifelong Green Bay Packer fans and attended many games. They were also proud to be one of the frigid few at the famous Ice Bowl in 1967 (the Packers beat the Cowboys!). They also loved their getaway cabin near Iron Mountain, Michigan. While Jim hunted, fished or just 'putzed" around, Carol enjoyed reading and cooked many amazing meals. Over the years they had many friends visit and cherished those memories. They especially remember the times that their grandsons spent at "The Cabin." Snowmobiling, ATVing and x-country skiing were also favorite past times there. (Once Jim got an ATV, she insisted on getting her own!) Carol is survived and will be missed greatly by her husband, Jim and sons Steve (Janice) and grandchildren Sarah, Julia and Allie of Franklin, Tennessee and Tom (Eden) and grandchildren Anthony (AJ) and Thomas (Rico) of Austin, Texas; her sister Meredyth (Jim) Parrish of Grand Rapids, Michigan and her brother, Dennis (Julie) Wirtz of The Villages and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by their son, Dan and her sister, Virginia Wirtz. Special thanks to Dr. Acevedo and Paige Morris at Florida Cancer Specialists, and the Compassionate Care Hospice Staff - namely Terese, Brenda, Juanita, LaToya and Samantha. A mass will take place on Friday, April 20 at 10:00 AM at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Lady Lake, Florida. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carol's life.
