Betty Ann Gray

Betty Ann Lane Gray, 80, of Groveland, Florida, passed away on February 8, 2025. Betty Ann spent her life devoted to her beloved family and friends. She loved nothing more than laughing and spending time with others. Born to Ted and Othel Lane on October 25,1944, she graduated from Mt. Dora High School in 1962. On September 21, 1962, Betty Ann married the love of her life, Cecil Gray, and was a loving and devoted wife for over 34 years until his death in 1997. An affectionate and caring mother, she instilled in her three children the values of hard work, kindness, and the joy of laughter. One of her favorite positions in life was that of Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment of being with them, and they were her pride and joy. Betty Ann was gifted with a beautiful soprano voice and always enjoyed singing and music. She was also multi-talented with arts and crafts enjoying creative endeavors. She used these talents as a florist. An avid University of Alabama fan, a favorite greeting was an enthusiastic “Roll Tide” for almost any occasion. A faithful Christian, she was one of the original members of the Groveland Church of Christ. She dearly loved her church family and thoroughly enjoyed studying God’s word. Betty Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil E. Gray, daughter, Sandi Boykin, great-granddaughter, Shiloh Stewart, parents, Ted and Othel Lane, sister, Martha Jane Andrews, brother-in-law, Julian Andrews, brother Roland Lane, and sister, Wanda Turner. She is survived by son Don (Sunny) Gray, daughter Kim (Frank) Whitman, son-in-law Kenny Boykin, grandchildren Kacy (Andy) Paul, Amber (Jasper) Stewart, Sam Boykin, Gatlyn Gray, honorary grandchildren Zak Williams and Kaylee Williams, great-grandchildren Cheyenne Paul, Leah Stewart, and Sterling Stewart, and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Groveland Church of Christ with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Groveland.
