Barbara Keene Fenner

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Barbara (Keene) Fenner, 83, of Leesburg, FL. Barb passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025 with her devoted husband of 62 years, Arthur ("Dave") Fenner, by her side. She spent her final year at home with hospice support surrounded by family and the unwavering, selfless care of her beloved husband. The love Barb and Dave shared was steadfast and enduring - one that will inspire others for years to come. Born in Cazenovia, NY to Melda Vigil and Elmer Keene, Barb was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her husband, Dave; daughters Wendy (Fenner) and husband Jon Coward, and Julie (Fenner) and husband Mark Reese. She was the proud grandmother of Jude, Emma and Clan Holmes, and Joseph Boccardo and Alyssa (Boccardo) and husband Michael Schnupp; and of treasured great-grandchildren Addison and Ashton Schnupp. Barbara is survived by her beloved sister, Wanda (Keene) and husband Harold Tedford, and many loving nieces and nephews. After graduating from Cazenovia High School in 1960, Barb began her career at Bristol Myers where she met Dave, the love of her life. Together, they raised their daughters in Kirkville, NY, built their dream home in Chittenango, NY, and later moved to central Florida to enjoy the sunshine. Barb also worked for Agway and Chrysler Corporation, where coworkers relied on her professional competence and personal warmth. Beyond work life, she cherished her family. She handmade Afghans for each grandchild and brought friends and family together with thoughtful traditions. They created joyful memories with pool parties and snowmobile rides across cornfields and through the woods. Our dedicated family historian, Barb compiled generations of genealogical records and created a family cookbook with our favorite recipes. Her passion for ancestry led her to Switzerland. where she connected with distant relatives and explored her lineage. She and Dave adventured across the world-China, Australia, Mexico, Ireland, Germany and many other unforgettable places. Barb's calm presence, generous spirit, and enduring love will be missed more than words can say. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the stories she preserved and the deep bonds she nurtured throughout her life. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
