Arline Joyce Murphy

Arline Joyce Murphy, 80, a loving wife of 56 years, mother of 7 (5 living), and grandmother of 16, began her new life with our Lord Jesus Christ and our Most Holy Mother Mary on October 19, 2017. Arline was a suffering servant during her 14 year struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. Arline handled this long suffering with a smile on her face and grace in her heart. She was a humble and self sacrificing lady who had outer beauty and inner strength and was a spiritual example to all. She was born in Walla Walla, Washington and came to The Villages in 2006 from Ringwood, N.J. Surviving are her husband: John J. Murphy, The Villages, Florida; and five children, John Murphy (wife Lisa) Arizona; Michael Murphy (wife Linda) New Jersey; Donna Galdi (husband Rick), Michigan; Andrea Amato (husband Jude), Florida; Laura Grijalba (husband Adam), Kentucky; late brother Merrill Schwandt; sister, Diane Grabner; brother, Carrol Schwandt; 16 Grandchildren: Michael, Stephen, Megan, Amanda, Ryan, Nicole, Anthony, Dante, Julian, Linda, Ray, John, Victoria, Theresa, Diana, and Christina Arline. Arline will be deeply missed by all family & friends especially her husband, children and grandchildren. Arline is the author of the book "The Light of Love", retired school teacher and learning disability teacher consultant. She was the director of a Montessori school; received her Master's Degree from William Paterson University, NJ in Special Education; Co-founder St. Margaret of Scotland Guild, Ringwood, N.J.; pro-life advocate, Volunteer for the Apostolate for Family Consecration at Catholic Familyland, OH; former member of The Villages Parkinson's Support/Exercise Group, former member of The Day-Break Club, parishioner of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, Florida and most recently, Arline was embraced as a Lifetime Member of The Marian Servants of the Word Incarnate. Visitation at Beyers Funeral Home Lady Lake, Florida from 2:00 - 6:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, where a Rosary will be held at 3:15 p.m. and a Prayer Vigil Service will be held at 5:15p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake, Florida with Father Gerald Shovelton, celebrant. Graveside services and Entombment will be held at St. Gertrude's Catholic Cemetery, Colonia, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, a donation/check can be made to Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, Florida 32162
