Obituary of Anthony Pontarelli Anthony Rosinto Pontarelli, 76, of The Villages, FL, died on Wednesday, August 4, 2010. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to The Villages in 2005. He was the owner/operator of Flowers by Pontarelli for 45 years before retiring in 2005. He was a very active 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Philadelphia, PA. He was a member and an usher for St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Wildwood, FL. Mr. Pontarelli was an avid golfer and was a member of the Blind Golf Association in Pennsylvania. In The Villages, he was a member of the Philadelphia Club, the Pennsylvania Club, and the Southport Street Social Club. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ann (Montini) Pontarelli, The Villages, FL; daughter Lisa (Peter) Denove, Naples, FL,; son Mark Pontarelli, Birmingham, AL, and son Anthony (Maureen) Pontarelli, Holland, PA; 2 sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Atkins, Bluffton, SC and Marie Pontarelli, Norristown, PA; and 6 grandchildren (Anthony, Carla, Nicholas, George, Madeline and Nicholas). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Wildwood, FL. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery with full military honors. A Memorial Mass will held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in Holland, PA for family and friends in the Philadelphia area. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made in Anthony's name to the Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer Research, The V Foundation for Cancer Research, 106 Towerview Court, Cary, NC 27513.
