Obituary of LYDA MOORE Lyda Anne Moore, Lt. Colonel, U.S.A.F., (Ret.), age 80, of The Villages passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 in The Villages, Florida. She was born in Nicholasville, KY and came to The Villages in 1999 from Sun City Center, FL. Mrs. Moore was a member of the North Lake Presbyterian Church, Lady Lake where she served as a volunteer with the Homebound ministries of the church; member of The Society of Air Force Nurses; member of the Military Officers Association of America(MOAA); the West Virginia Club and The Military Family Group both of The Villages. She was a U.S. Air Force Nurse, from 1958 to 1979 with multiple overseas and stateside tours. Mrs. Moore was raised in St. Albans, W. VA.. She graduated from Medical College of Virginia as a Registered Nurse. She is survived by her Step-Daughter: Marilyn (Dennis) Pinkley, Hardy, VA; Nephew: Walter (Lynne) G. Bullington, Jr., Brandon, FL.; Niece: Valerie (James) Sills, Pittsboro, N.C. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home. Friends may call from 10-11:00 A.M. on Monday prior to the service. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery where full military honors will be afforded by the McDill Air Force Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Homebound of North Lake Presbyterian Church, 975 Rolling Acres Road, Lady Lake, Fl. 32159 or The American Lung Association of Florida 1333 W. Colonial Dr., Orlando, FL. 32804. Visitation Friends may call from 10-11:00 A.M. on Monday prior to the service.
