John R. Davis

John Davis went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Johnny Ray Davis was born on August 22, 1951, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, to Joseph Ray and Fern Louise (Anderson) Davis. He married Patsy Morgan in 1969; they had three children Jennifer, Joseph and Jeffrey. The couple later divorced. On November 22, 1984, John married Chiao Liang in Tampa, FL. He filled many roles in his life. He was first of all a Christian who loved the Lord and this greatly influenced the way he fulfilled all of his other roles. John was a dedicated son, husband, companion, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, worker and co-worker, church member, a mentor and a friend. He was gifted mechanically and had an extensive work history from Millwright to Master Electrician. There was not much that he couldn't fix or design and make as the need arose. John was also very gifted in playing the guitar and enjoyed playing musical instruments and worshipping the Lord with his family and in church. He enjoyed writing poems, songs and sermons, and talking to his friends about spiritual things. He also shared these talents by teaching them to his family and others. John loved spending time with Chiao as they worked together farming, gardening, fishing, cooking, tearing down and rebuilding an old tractor and making things together. John is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Chiao Davis. He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Marc) Stemmler of Essexville, MI, and his son, Joe (Annie) Davis of Weirsdale, FL, his daughter-in-law Lisa (Jacob) Bartlett of Washington, IN, and sisters Linda Garza of Rotonda West, FL, Fern Elliott of Orlando, FL and Cindy Davis of Washington, MI. "Papaw" Davis will also be remembered by grandchildren Morgan, CJ, Evan, Joey, Abbie, Tristan and Lydia and great-grandson Caspean. Awaiting John in heaven were his parents Joseph and Fern, his son Jeffrey and his granddaughter Allie. Funeral services for John R. Davis will be on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, FL. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm with service at 2:00 pm and burial will be immediately after the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Weirsdale, FL.
