Obituary of Beatrice Woods Beatrice Irene Woods, 93, The Villages, FL, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Lady Lake, FL. She was born in Salem, WV and moved to The Villages in 2007 from Bryans Road, MD. She worked for the Dept. of the Navy for 26 years and was a Homefront Honoree recipient for her work during World War II. She was a member of the Lady Lake United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women, The Sunshine Group, Four Score and More Club, Honorary member of National Tea Party, The Villages Chapter, and was selected as "The Villager of the Day" by the Daily Sun. She enjoyed square dancing, RVing, traveling, fly fishing and was an avid Washington Redskins football fan. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Raymond, The Villages; daughter Barbara Sue (Gary) Herman, The Villages, FL; son Gary Lowell (Jeanie) Woods, Pagosa Springs, CO; grandchildren Kenneth Adam Woods, Daniel Eugene (Stephanie) Sabin and Brian Edward (Carol Ann)Sabin; 2 Great Grandchildren Taylor Elise and Kelly Elizabeth Sabin. Florida Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, February 20, 2011 at The Lexington Park Assisted Living Facility, 930 Hwy 466, Lady Lake, FL (across from LaZamora) with Pastor Chris Sanders officiating. Maryland Memorial Services are scheduled for Friday, February 25, 2011 with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5635 Washington Ave, LaPlata, MD 20646. Graveside Services will follow at the Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD with Reverend James Chance officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Villages for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.
