Audrey F. Mackiewicz

Our beloved Audrey passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 29th, 2024 after a courageous battle against lung cancer. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur J. Mackiewicz, her parents Daisy and Owen Finsted and her sister Carol Ramsland. She is survived by her loving son Keith Mackiewicz and his wife Mattie, two granddaughters Sloane and Kennedy, sisters Diane (Andy) DiNoia, Susan (Paul) Robinson, Lisa (Lou) Quievryn, Janet Cooke and brother Carl Finsted along with brother-in-laws Wayne (Linda) Mackiewicz, Michael Mackiewicz and sister-in-law Maureen Mackiewicz. She leaves behind fellow Floridians Aunt Alice and Uncle Ben Regensburg, along with cousins and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Audrey was born in Mount Vernon, New York March 15, 1953, the third daughter of Daisy and Owen. She was unofficially part of the “triple threat” as her parents would often call the three girls who were 15 months apart. They would scheme together and participate in all types of games. She was also a big sister to four additional siblings that created the Finsted family. She moved to Brewster, New York with the family in 1959 and graduated from Brewster High School. She was loved by all her many friends and excelled in her studies. She worked at AT&T in White Plans and attended Pace University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She was a consummate perfectionist of the English language and her grammar was impeccable. Most everyone adjusted to the mere fact that Audrey would always correct your sentences, always ensuring you were communicating properly. At AT&T, she worked as a computer programmer where she met the love of her life, Arthur. They married in March of 1986 and later that year gave birth to Keith Owen. Keith was the center of her attention and her heart soared being a mom. They lived in Putnam Valley and White Plains until AT&T moved her with their family to Florida in 1988. She settled in at a community in Windermere and hosted many family events, pool parties and Keith’s friends during this wonderful time of her life. She loved Florida and absolutely found the Sunshine State to be the perfect lifestyle for herself and her family. Part of the Florida experience she loved was the ability to easily access the beach. She and Arthur would travel to the Caribbean to visit the white sands of the islands, and to the beaches of Florida’s Gulf Coast and Atlantic and ultimately bought a condominium in Cocoa Beach where they could escape on the weekends and enjoy everything that beach life offered. Audrey was always the life of the party; she loved entertaining and hosting in her Florida home(s). She was a wonderful cook and delighted in finer fares and delicacies along with the simple joys of feeding her family. She enjoyed watching cooking shows, playing the word jumble in the daily newspaper, solitaire and watching any of the classic movies. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 8th at 4:00 PM at the Pavilion in the Plantations of Leesburg. She and her beloved husband Arthur will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral Military Cemetery on Monday December 9th at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
