Obituary of Alma Coit Alma Mae Pollard Coit passed away peacefully on July 5, 2015 at Lexington Park Assisted Living in Lady Lake, FL. Alma was born May 14, 1929 in Stockdale, OH to the late S. Curtis and M. Ethel Pollard. She was the baby of six children. Having obtained her Master's Degree, Alma taught for 41 years in Ohio and Florida public schools. She graduated with a BS in Ed, 1951, from Ohio University. It was there she met her husband Charles Henry Coit II. Married for 63 years, they had three children: Victoria North Coit, Charles Henry Coit III and John Clark (Robin) Coit. She had five grandchildren, Shawn Michael McGregor, Amanda Coit McGregor Cejka, Oliver Brooks Coit, Hannah Clark Coit and Christopher Dylan Coit Aversa as well as three great-grandchildren: Jay, Jonathan and Molly Cejka. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Chuck, grandson Shawn, brothers Otho and Paul Pollard; sisters Eileen Bapst, Erma McClurg and Ruth Rockwell. She devoted her life to caring for her family. Alma's passion for cooking delighted everyone; all who sat at her table remember the experience of fine dining. Alma was handled the role of minister's wife once Charles became an Episcopal priest, which she handled with her usual dignity and grace. Alma touched the lives of many people throughout her lifetime, and anyone who knew her was touched by her sincerity. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and friends. There will be a memorial service 11am, August 8, 2015 at the Stockdale United Christian Church in southern Ohio, her childhood home. A luncheon reception will follow at the farm where she grew up, 777 California Pike, Stockdale. All family and friends are welcome.
