Jerry Douglas Scott (77) of Yalaha, FL passed away at UF Health Hospital, Leesburg, FL October 5, 2020. He was born March 3, 1943 in Mansfield, Ohio.

Jerry is survived by his dear wife of 19 years, Maxine; his children Jerry Scott II (Stephanie) of Winter Garden, FL, Shawn Scott of Lake Tahoe, CA, Amber Queen (Hartmut Ziegler) of Minneola, FL; stepchildren Lori English of Andover, NJ, Edward Fehn (Karen) of Catasauqua, PA, and Christopher Fehn of Gainesville, FL. He was also blessed with grandchildren William (Chelsea), Zoe, Hunter, Mitchell, and Lynn and great grandson, Cove. He is also survived by his sister Cristine Stewart of Bucyrus, OH and nieces Billie and Mary. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Alice Rosenbluh Scott. Special thanks to his lifelong close friends Richie and Gloria Noe (Gloria preceded Jerry in death earlier this year).
Jerry served the U.S. in the Navy. He spent 30 years working at Disney World as a welder. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 4273, Okahumpka, FL, and enjoyed a membership in the Card Club of Peace United Methodist Church in Orlando, FL. Jerry loved baseball. He spent years coaching little league through the youth majors. He also loved reading, playing cards and clipping out coupons for the overseas serviceman. He enjoyed working on his car which he was doing just weeks ago. He will always be remembered as a man of humor, finding key moments to throw in a tease to those he loved. He was a good man, a true father no matter his children or his stepchildren and a caring husband.
There will be a graveside memorial service at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on October 16 at 10:30 AM. Friends who wish to participate in a processional should be at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel at 1123 W. Main St in Leesburg, FL by 9:10 AM.
