Oral Rector Taylor Jr., known to family and friends as ‘Jr.’ went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 23, 2019. He was born August 14, 1944 in Charleston, WV to Goldie Moore Taylor and Oral Rector Taylor. He was fortunate enough to grow up in the mountains of WV with his family, learning to hunt, fish, and live off of the land. He joined the military from 1966-68 and was blessed to see the countryside of Germany while serving. He had two children during his 46-year marriage to Theatta “Teddi” Louise Parsons Taylor: Jennifer Parsons Davies and Oral Rector Taylor III.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his sister, Reva Moffit Harper. He is survived by his sisters Mary Taylor (Eugene) Patrick of Oak Hill, Ohio and Loretta Taylor (David) White of Goshen, Indiana; wife Theatta “Teddi” Taylor of Leesburg, FL; daughter Jennifer (George) Davies of New Lexington, OH; son Oral Rector (Candice) Taylor, III of Ocklawaha, FL; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Ohio and Florida.
A small memorial service has taken place in FL following his passing. A future memorial service will be arranged in the spring or summer of 2020 for all other family and friends to attend. Please, do not send flowers or arrangements to the funeral home at this time.
