Gary Wayne Sockness, age 67, of Umatilla, FL went home to be with the Lord on Saturday November 3rd, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Gary was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on May 27, 1951. He was a devoted husband, the best father in the world and a wonderful uncle. Gary never met a stranger. Serving in the United States Navy, Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After the war he married the love of his life, Donna Hera. He loved working on cars, deep sea fishing and spending time with his family.

Gary is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Hera Sockess, his son Gary Sockness Jr. of Cornell, WI, daughter Marsha (Daron) Musick of Warrenton, NC, grandson Weslaf Sockness of Leesburg, FL, his brothers and sisters, Larry (Gloria) Sockness of Cornell, WI, Daniel Liddell of Iola, TX, Debby (Arnie) Mikula of Spirit Lake, ID, Patti (Roy) Ehlert of Medford, WI, Rebecca Liddell of Stetsonville, WI and Roberta (Lynn) Williams of Iola, TX. He is also survived by his aunt, Olga Zwiefel of Cornell, WI, and many brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Barnum Sockness and Ilabell Hyland, his brothers Jerry Sockness and Terry Sockness as well as his sister Belinda Perez.
