Obituary for Margaret Joyce "Peggy" Pemble

Print
Peggy Pemble, born in Leesburg, FL in 1923, daughter of Frank M. and Faire S. Pemble, died on October 4, 2018 at the Lakeview Retirement Center in Altoona, FL. When asked about her educational background, she expressed her gratitude for having been a graduate of Leesburg High, the Class of 1941. Her BS degree came from Florida State and her MRE degree from WMUTS in Louisville, KY. Her vocational career was wide and varied. She loved life and was quick to humorously describe her summer experiences with the Choctaw Indians in OK or down on the River Front in New Orleans. Thirty-five years were spent in Brazil as a kind of Jack of all trades in Christian social ministries. When asked about her denominational preference, her reply was always "I'm just a Baptist from the South." She lived several years in a retirement center reminding herself frequently that a sense of humor always helps during years like these. Her sister, Ann P. Golden of Orlando preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother Frank M. Pemble of Leesburg and six nieces and nephews: Frances P. Deems, Gordon Pemble of Leesburg and Tom Randolph, Jeannie R. Godber, Nancy R. Bartell and Susan R. Costello of Orlando. She will be buried in the Pemble family plot. at Lone Oak cemetery.
