Obituary for Jean Ann O'Keefe (Haun)

Jean Ann O'Keefe (Haun)
Jean A. O’Keefe (Haun) passed away in Leesburg, Florida on the 1st of September, 2018 at the age of 82. Jean is survived by her husband, Charles, son, Charles David (Rosemary), daughter, Diane (Mark), daughter Suzanne (Jeff), grandchildren, Tricia (Ryan), Trina, Kelly, Danny, and Kristen, and her younger brother, Frederick Haun (Eileen). Proceeded in death by her parents, Louis and Teresa Haun, and her son, Tom.

Jean was born on September 7th, 1935 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She graduated from Salem Central High School and received her associate’s degree in accounting from Gateway Technical School. She met her soul mate, Charles O’Keefe, while he was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval base. They were united in marriage on August 20th 1955.

She was an avid seamstress in the sixties and seventies. She loved crafting and camping through her middle years. In her later years, she was a dedicated reader and golf fanatic, where she hit a hole-in-one on July 13th, 1999 at Monarch Golf Course in Leesburg, Florida. Jean and Charles were longtime residents of southeastern Wisconsin, and they retired in central Florida where she was an active accountant and tax consultant until the time of her death.
A private ceremony will be held in Wisconsin with family members at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciatively requests donations to be given to the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in Jean’s honor. Jean will be fiercely missed and is anxiously awaited in heaven by her beloved son, Tom.
