Patricia “Pat” Brady Stolworthy
Pat Stolworthy passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2018 in The Villages, FL. She was born in the Bronx, NY on May 23, 1938 to Pete & Rita Brady, as the next to youngest child. Married at 18, she had four children by the age of 21 with a set of identical twins in the middle. She enjoyed being a homemaker and mother on Long Island, prior to working for the federal government. Pat was planning to celebrate her 62nd Wedding Anniversary to George on June 30, 2018.
In her younger days, Pat enjoyed basketball and bowling. She began playing golf in the 80’s in St. Augustine and became hooked. As a two-time Breast Cancer survivor, she volunteered for the American Cancer Society for many years. She was extremely crafty and a talented seamstress constantly busy making items for fund raisers, and for the grandchildren. In 1984 she moved to St. Augustine Beach for George’s job. In February 1994, Pat & George moved to The Village of Country Club Hills and in June of 2013, they moved to a new home in The Village of Sanibel with Pat’s dream kitchen and bathroom roman shower. The Villages became home to many of her family members and at their peak, she had 23 family members in 13 homes across The Villages.
She is survived by her husband George, her sister Mary Clauer, her daughter and son-in-law Patti and Michael Castelli, her son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Kim Stolworthy, and her grandsons Connor and Taylor Stolworthy, her son and daughter-in-law Ken and Lori Stolworthy and her granddaughter Justine Stolworthy and her daughter and son-in-law Kathi and Mike Moschos and her granddaughter Kristi and husband Tony Johnson and her great-grandson Michael Robert Johnson and her granddaughter Nicolle and husband Josh Campbell. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law and countless nieces and nephews. She was so happy to have all four of her children in The Villages, with two in Tamarind Grove and two in Fenney. She had countless friends near and far and was loved by all. As much as she loved her kids, she had a special place in her heart for her grandkids. Pat was thrilled to have gotten to spend 2 years with her great-grandson. She will always be his GiGi.
She is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Rita, her brother Pete and her brother Bob.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for late November at Community United Methodist Church in Fruitland Park, FL in order to accommodate family travel plans. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to: Tri-County Breast Cancer Support Group.
