Darlene Cleo Elbrecht
Darlene Cleo Rosier-Elbrecht, age 75 of Fruitland Park, FL, passed away suddenly on June 30th, 2018. After years of suffering through the pain associated with Fibromyalgia, the good Lord called her home to rest while she was on a family vacation with her husband, daughter and her family, visiting her son and his family in East Kingston, NH. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her immediate family in the comfort of her son’s home.
She was born April 8, 1943 in Tampa, FL. Daughter of William and Jimmie Paullette-Rosier. She married Russel Edward Elbrecht on November 17, 1961 at her family home in Lutz, FL. Graduating from Chamberlain High School, she went on to obtain a certificate in business. Using this, she earned a position working with Nynex Telephone Company and ultimately retired from Verizon.
Darlene’s love of family was paramount in all the decisions she made. Her family was her top priority and her pride in her children and her grandchildren was evident in not only her words of love but her constant attention and gifts - there was always some present or treat whenever she saw them - a bag of endless gifts that continued after her unexpected death.
She had many friends and focused on them as if they were family. Her relationships spanned across many cultures and religions. She loved the domestic arts: cooking, knitting, sewing, making a home, and creating something from nothing, especially in painting. She always had enough to share no matter how little there was and would go without for those that were in need. It was her way of mothering those around her and expressing her love for them. She would always say a prayer for those in need and those that were not. Her love for nature and all of God’s creatures was apparent to those that knew her. Her spirit soared when the little guy won against all odds, overcoming their challenges and was sad when the downtrodden had no champions. Darlene would come to the rescue. Full of fire and passion, anxious to help those that couldn’t help themselves or simply extend a hand to let them know they weren’t alone in their struggles.
She is survived by her husband Russel Elbrecht; her son Duane Elbrecht, his wife Vicki Jo and their children Ethan, Beckett, and Harper; her daughter Dawn Eldridge, her husband Doug and their children Aiden and Kiefer; her brother Charles Rosier, his wife Iris and their many children and grandchildren; her brother Clarence Rosier, his wife Janice and their many children and grandchildren; her sister in law Jackie Elbrecht and her many children and grandchildren; her sister in law Elsie Rosier and her many children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents William and Jimmie Rosier; her sister Chrystal Jeffcoat and her husband Howard; her brother William Rosier, Jr and his wife Romalda; and her brother Robert Rosier.
There will be a viewing open to friends and family on Tuesday, July 10 from 1pm - 3pm at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, FL with services immediately following at 3pm. The interment will be a private gathering.
In lieu of flowers, please make notations in her name to Leesburg Humane Society, Cherokee Nation Foundation, or the Florida National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association. Flowers may be sent to Beyers Funeral Home.
“May the stars carry your sadness away.
May the flowers fill your heart with beauty.
May hope forever wipe away your tears.
And above all, may silence make you strong.”
