Gerald William “Jerry” Fultz, 81 of Leesburg, FL passed away June 6. Jerry was born in Middletown, Ohio on July 16, 1936, the son of Dwight & Bunnell (Miller) Fultz. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Irene (Caron) Fultz, along with his parents. He is survived by son Gerald Fultz, Jr. and daughter-in-law Karen Frederick of Hudson, Fla.; daughter Jana and husband, Edward Heft of Lebanon, Ohio; daughter Jennylee Haines of Chicago, Ill; and son-in-law David Perkins of Lebanon, Ohio. He is also the proud grandpa “Papaw” of Shawn Abel & wife Elizabeth (Kane); Kristen (Perkins) & Brandon Goecker; Parey (Haines) & Aaron Kwolek; Sophie Haines; and Tayler Perkins, along with 8 great grandchildren and countless friends.
A longtime resident of Canton, Ohio, Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Marines, serving in Korea just after the Korean War from 1955 – 1958. He then attended Emory Riddle Aeronautical Institute in Miami to become a pilot and made his career as a pilot flying corporate jets for, among others, the Charles F. Kettering family and companies in Dayton, Ohio. He later flew for The Timken Company and Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, both in Canton, Ohio before moving to Florida.
He was past master of the Blue Lodge, as well as past commander in the Commandery (York Rite), at Clinton Lodge in Massillon Ohio. In Florida, he was past president of the Bahia Shrine RV Club and traveled to all 50 states.
Services will be at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg on Saturday June 9, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake Alfred, Florida.
