Joseph Keith Maddox, was born in Oaktown, Indiana March 13, 1921 and went to be forever with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 3, 2018.
After graduating high school, Joseph began his career as a pipefitter. His career went on hold in 1942 when he enlisted in the Army, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant, and served with the 1913th Aviation Engineer Battalion Company “C” as a construction foreman.
After returning from the war in December, 1945, he later met and married the love of his life, M. Josephine Dooley in October, 1949. In the subsequent years, the couple welcomed three children into their home.
Joseph is preceded in death by his wife of 68.5 years, M. Josephine (Dooley). He is survived by three children- Linda Diane Swatts of Indiana, Keith Duane Maddox of Colorado, and Francis David Maddox of Florida; three grandchildren, Christopher Joseph Swatts, Jaclyn Brook Maddox, and John David Maddox, all of Indiana. Survivors also include three great- grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at the Oaktown Cemetery, Oaktown, Indiana. Arrangements are entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Leesburg, FL (352)787-4343.
