Edward "Ed" Brown
Edward “Ed” M. Brown, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2018 at his residence in The Villages, FL. Ed was a proud World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, who served as a Signalman 3rd Class in the Pacific theater. He received three ribbons and three bronze stars for his bravery. Ed was born January 21, 1926, in Marlboro, OH to Walter and Clara (Burkey) Brown. Until his retirement he resided in Alliance, OH where he met his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (Berletich). He worked as a brick mason and machinist in Alliance and was employed at Azalea Oaks and Target in The Villages where he was also a loyal volunteer at the Shared Harvest Community Garden. Ed enjoyed gardening, golf, sports, hunting, reading and word games. He was a life member of B.P.O.Elks, a charter member of Sleepy Hollow Golf Course and a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and greeter. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, daughters Debbie (Bill) Minerich of Akron, OH, Tammie (Ken) Pittenger of Norwalk, OH and son David (Joanne) of Dublin, OH, grandchildren Carrie and Kevin Minerich, Zachary and Brianna Pittenger and Aaron Brown, sister Betty Turk, and brothers Donald and Richard (Louise).
