Obituary for Richard Follett Sr.
Richard “Sleepy” Follett, Sr. 78 of Leesburg, Florida passed on January 1, 2018, in The Villages Hospital. Born to Marshall and Grace (Morton) Follett on March 16, 1939, in Morris, New York. He lived 50+ Years on Megquier Hill, West Poland, Maine, raising his family and training and racing Harness Horses with his wife. He was employed many years by A.C.Lawrence Leather Company, South Paris, Maine. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Faye (Gurney), two Children Richard, Jr of Leesburg, Florida and a daughter Fern-Lynn (Gregory Larsen) of Wales, Maine, two Grandchildren Savannah and Marshall. There are two Surviving brothers Merritt (Cindy) of Arkansas and Neil (Heather) of New York, one sister Minerva of Virginia.
The family always had many animals of all kinds, finally settling with his beloved cat, Miss Mia.
Everyone knew “Sleepy” as a Loving, Kind, Understanding, Generous yet very Quiet person who had a certain way with all animals as well as people. He fought a long, hard battle but is resting in peace now.
Deceased are his parents and three brothers Raymond (Rose) of Pennsylvania, Carl (Lorraine) of New York, and Stanley (Amy) of Florida.
A Graveside service is planned in the spring at Highland Cemetery, West Poland, Maine
