Obituary for Dorothy Lippincott
Dorothy Lippincott of Howey in the Hills, FL, formerly of Dodge Center, MN, and North Loup, NE, died November 13, 2017.Dorothy was born January 15, 1922, in Dodge County, MN, to Frank and Leta Stebbins and was married July 25, 1942, to Darwin C. Lippincott. They shared 64 years of marriage.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin, in 2006, by her son Dennis Lippincott in 1983 (Leanne), and by her grandson Andrey in 2014. She is survived by her daughter Diane Merchant (Tom), son Daryl Lippincott (Marcy), daughter Dawn Deiss (Allory), daughter Darcy Burdick (Victor) and son Dan Lippincott (Shelley). She is survived by grandchildren Kim, Jennifer, Jay, Ron, Shelly, Monique, Devon, Levi, Leslie, Jason, Alisa, Adam, Luke, LeRaya, Rachel, and by eighteen great grandchildren. Dorothy also was preceded in death by her sisters, Marge Majors and LaVon Phelps, and is survived by her sister Shirley Stoeckel.
In addition to raising her family, Dorothy contributed to her communities in Minnesota and Nebraska. In Minnesota, she was employed by the Dodge County Farm Bureau; she served 15 years as Director of Civil Defense in Dodge County , and was the Minnesota First Congressional District Director for the 1970 federal census. In Nebraska she was Director of Nebraska Region 26 Emergency Services, and in that role served as project director for a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to build an emergency medical services area prototype.
A lifeflong Seventh Day Baptist, she was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, FL. In recent years she also was an associate member of the Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Leesburg, FL, where she had a blessed time, enjoying the friendship and fellowship of those who truly love the Lord.
The love of her family and the great and holy love of her Lord were the most important part of her life.
