Obituary for Norman Anderson
Norman Lee Anderson, 83, passed away peacefully at home in Wildwood, Florida on November 9, 2017. Norman was born on May 6, 1934 in Underwood, Clark County, Indiana to Ballard and Martha Cochran Anderson and was a long-time resident of Carrollton, Kentucky before moving to Central Florida in 1983. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having once served proudly as part of the Military Police unit guarding President Eisenhower’s plane. He was a self-employed auto mechanic who enjoyed building street rods. A former stock car racer, he was an avid NASCAR fan. He retired as sexton of St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, FL in 2007.
Norman is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carol (nee Sheffield) and sons, Leroy (Debra) of Summerfield, FL; Charles (Ruby) of Carrollton, KY; and Dave (Leasa) of Wildwood, FL. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and his extended family and many friends who honor his memory as an honest, loving and hardworking man who always put his family first. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Lelia (nee Browning), oldest son James, seven brothers and six sisters.
