Obituary for Margaret Lozano
Margaret P. Lozano 79, of Orlando, FL, formerly of Fort Madison, IA died Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at the VITAS Hospice Unit in Winter Garden, FL. Born Aug. 29, 1938, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Allen & Thelma Daley. She first married Ronald Boecher, and they divorced. On Dec. 23, 1976, she married Raymond Lozano in Fort Madison. Mrs. Lozano enjoyed a rewarding career as a licensed practical nurse at Burlington Medical Center. She was also a nurse for Head Start at the Eichacker Center in Fort Madison for several years. After retiring from nursing, she fulfilled a dream of owning her own business. Island Sun Tanning & Hair Salon in Hamilton, IL was her pride & joy until selling it to retire in Florida. She attended school in Fort Madison, and received her nursing degree from Southeastern Community College in Burlington. She was Lutheran, like her parents, but often attended Catholic services with her husband. She was a champion for animal welfare, and for children's rights. She was a founding member of the Lee County Child Abuse Prevention Council, and the Happy Bear program in Fort Madison. Survivors include her two daughters, Tessa (Wolf) Martinez of Orlando, Ronda (Randy) Stoneburner of Fort Madison, IA; one son, Allen Boecher of Hillsboro, IA; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother.
Private ServiceA private graveside service will be held October 13th at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with Minister James Johnson officiating.
Memorial Donations In lieu of flowers, Tessa requests that donations be sent to the family charity of choice, St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN or by participating in the family's annual toy drive for St. Jude's.
