Obituary for Theo "T.J." Hollingsworth
Theo James (T.J.) Hollingsworth, 73, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away Monday, October 9, 2017. He was born in LeCompte, La. and grew up in Clearwater, La, a small community outside of LeCompte. He moved to Baton Rouge, La. with his family when he was in junior high. T.J. graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1962 and received a degree from Louisiana State University in 1966. From there, he was commissioned into the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant and excelled to become a Captain. He served his country proudly. He is predeceased by his parents, Theo Hollingsworth and Lenia Guillory Hollingsworth, and his sister Barbara Hollingsworth Sonnier. He is survived by his children, whom he was very proud: Aric Taylor Hollingsworth (Courtney Ann), Selicia Brianna Hollingsworth Marik, and Lara Monique Hollingsworth Pella (Austin) and his grandchildren Taylor Ann Hollingsworth, Greyson Hollingsworth, Branden Marik, Dylen Marik, Jorden Marik, Jasmine Paterson, Sharla Marik, Gavin Pella and Capri Pella. He is also survived by his sisters Sallie H. Gaudin and Jennie H. Murphy (Barrett), and many nieces, nephews and friends, whom he loved very much. He was a loving son, father, brother and grandfather. He loved his family very much and loved to be with them, he loved his Country and his Catholic faith. In his early years he loved to hunt, fish, ski, and be outdoors, and he loved the beach. He will be missed very much.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 5-7p.m. at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 8:30a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
