Obituary for Daniel Ray
Chief Master Sargent, Daniel M. Ray, United States Air Force (Retired) 88, of Webster, FL went home to join his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Merritt Ray on Friday, August 4, 2017, after a distinguished career which included 30 years in the military and working as a carpenter until his 80’s.
He served not only his country but his community as a member of the Webster Civic Club, a board member of the Webster Library Association along with many years of volunteering with the local baseball leagues. “I enjoy working” was what he always said. He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn and grandson James.
He is survived by his four sons: Daniel Gary, Cecil Allen, Jeffery Dean, and Kenneth David along with eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to Special Operations Warriors Fund (specialops.org).
Visitation and Service
A service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. (with visitation from 9:30 to 10:00) at First Baptist Church of Webster, Florida with Pastor Don Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Linden Cemetery.
