Obituary for Michael Marino
Michael Thomas Marino, 75, sadly passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.
Born 16 January 1942, Jersey City, NJ, Mike moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1995 later moving to Pierson, FL and then made his home in Astor, FL.
Mike turned his hands to many things during his life in New Jersey from successfully running his own businesses, including a trucking company, a saw mill, an arcade in Coney Island and a Spring Water Company where he lived in Perth Amboy.
He was a competitive sailor with many accolades and always took part in anything that was associated with water. He was a wonderful supportive man to his family and friends. During his life, he knew through hard work and determination that things would get done. More recently he was very proud of his work at the Astor Moose Lodge, #2552. Through his work at the Lodge, he had made many friends and cherished these friendships. Recently he was very proud of his work at the Moose Lodge. He often ruffled feathers during his life. He meant well and let his heart lead him most of the time. A lesson learned many years ago “there are 101 ways to skin a cat, just pick one and follow it through!”
He is survived by his: wife Kathy Marino, Astor; his son: Roger Marino; daughter-in-law: Amanda Marino; and his granddaughter: Mia Marino of Warsash, England; his two sisters: MaryAnn McQuiddy and Margaret Kehrer both of Irvine, CA; stepbrothers: Scott & Steve Marino, Laquana Niquel, CA; four stepchildren: Richard, Laura, Melinda and Thomas with ten grandchildren: Ariana, Ariel, Amber, Hunter, Emily, Tristan, Julian, Gavin, Christopher and Alexandria.
